Preston Mattingly (37), the son of manager Don Mattingly, was appointed as the Philadelphia Phillies general manager of the Major League Baseball (MLB) at a young age.

The Philadelphia club announced on the 9th (local time) that "Preston Mattingly, an assistant to the general manager in charge of fostering players, will be promoted to the general manager."

Preston is the second son of Mattingly, who coached Ryu Hyun-jin with the Los Angeles Dodgers in the past.

Preston was drafted by the Dodgers with the 31st overall pick in the 2006 draft, but did not succeed as a player.

He went back and forth between the Rookie League and Single A, the lowest league in the minor league, until 2011, but never played in the upper leagues above Double A, and eventually entered college and played basketball. 메이저놀이터

After graduating from college in 2017, he began his front job as a scout for the San Diego Padres.

Preston, who joined Philadelphia in September 2021, was promoted to general manager after serving as director of player development and general manager of player development.

"To win the Philadelphia World Series, we will move forward with our members," Preston said.
